Storyboards

Storyboards Original Timeline/Storyboard: Below is the original storyboard which was created on the day of shooting. We wrote this down to help us decided what scenes we were going to film and when. We ticked off the scenes as we went through and we still had a few scenes we weren't sure about/what to place at certain points. This piece of paper was really just an hour of us jotting down loads of different ideas and checking which ones we liked/worked best. We chose to cut up the timeline into different sections talking about the different sections, we wanted to be as exact as we could. Different Scene Storyboard: Next I did a simple storyboard just showing the different scenes I would be having throughout the video. Obviously this was done before the ending so not everything in the final product is shown here. I have included the main lip-synching parts however some of the orders of shots have changed. I made sure to include a variety of shots to make the video interest...

Risk Assessment Form

Risk Assessment Form To ensure my actors safety I created a risk assessment form which showed all the possible risks when filming and how we avoided them. There is a copy of it below:

Viral Marketing Strategy

Image
Viral Marketing Strategy 'Viral marketing is any marketing technique that includes websites or users to pass on the marketing message to other websites to pass on a marketing message to other sites or users, creating a potentially exponential growth in the message's visability and effect.' Personally I think sites like Instagram and Twitter are more effective than YouTube in terms of promotional value. More people follow people on these type of social media than they do on their YouTube or Vevo Channel. So, to get the music video noticed I could take the approach proven to work by the likes of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, this being Social Media Promotion/Marketing.  During the summer of 2015, Taylor Swift announced she had created a music video to go along with her hit song 'Bad Blood', she also announced that Kendrick Lamar would join the song and rap on it (unlike the original). To market this video, she proceeded to post movie-like posters of each membe...

Intended Institution Analysis

Image
Intended Institution Analysis Here is a Prezi I made including the institutions I think would publish my video. https://prezi.com/view/treUqiiORKPpfYaD0LQU/ As the genre of my video is alternative and rock, I think my video is more likely to be played on MTV Rocks or MTV Classics. These would be best suited to my video due to the fact that the target audience of my video will be watching these shows. These channels are more catered to the genre of my video. The TV schedule for MTV Rocks on December 6th 2017 As you can see, there are multiple different programs that Kings Of Leon and their songs could fit into. They could be included in 'Greatest Rock Videos of the century' as well as 'Rock Solid Playlist.' They may also do some sort of feature on the band as the ones mentioned in this schedule are ones of the same caliber.  The radio stations that may be more likely to play my music video are Magic/Magic Chilled or Heart. My parents listen to Magic Chilled...

Intended Audience

Intended Audience The intended audience for my video are majority male who will most likely be in their 30's to 40's within an ABC1 demographic. As the members of the band are around that age, (the oldest being 38 and the youngest being 30) they will most likely attract people who are like them. Kings Of Leon began in 2002 when the intended audience would have been in their late teens and early 20's. Their fans and people who like their music have grown up with them. There will of course be some exceptions to this audience, there are a lot of teenagers who also like their music and some women do too. However this is not their target audience they're predominantly selling to. The character in my video is in his 20's and could also be part of the intended target audience. I used him to allow people watching my video to relate or if they're younger, inspire. He is wearing simple and normal clothes, no big brands. This makes his style a bit more achievable to th...

Textual Analysis - Past Student Music Video

Image
Media Studies A2 - Music Video (Full Marks A-Grade) The song used in this video is called ' Stuck ' by a band called ' Canopy Climbers '. They are a small indie band so this music video fits very well with that idea. The video isn't shot to be hugely based around the lyrics. There are a few things like motivated cuts which work with the song. There is one where the song says 'c orner ' and it shows the boys running down the street and around a corner. There are also some short clips of a couple fighting, the entirety of the song is sort of about being stuck or hung up on another person (ex lover). The line 'A nother drink of something that would kill the memory, replacing anything and dreams of how it should be ' this is a great example of the story behind the song. It is fitting with the fighting, how drinking will allow them to forget the bad stuff so they can just imagine the good things. When the music video starts, the tempo is fair...
