Inspirations and Influence
For my video I had a number of inspirations and influences for different scenes. My influences were very varied and different compared to the rock genre of my actual music video. Below are some influences I found helpful:
1. 22 - Taylor Swift
This video gave me the idea to have night and day scenes. In this video, the scenes in the evening are shot with the sparklers. In this video there are a scenes with fairy lights, I liked this idea as it breaks up all the different types of lighting throughout the video. It is also nice as the scenes shot during the day outside are quite gloomy, the night time sparkler shots give the video some warm feeling.
2. Oblivion - Bastille
This video gave me influence on nighttime lighting. As mentioned above I really wanted to try to break up the shots from just gloomy grey or white. The sparklers created the orange lighting. In this video they don't use the orange tones to much but they do use a spotlight. I liked that effect. It also helped with my gloomy lighting during the daytime.
3. How Deep Is Your Love - Calvin Harris & Disciples
This video gave me the idea to do the swing shot in my video where the RGB shifts and everything changes colour. Although it is only a split second in this video and a split second in mine but I thought it was a great idea. It also breaks up the shots from being normal and solid colour.
